pluto--the manga

now this is a manga i ve read most recently..
ive been a great fan of naoki urasawas work .It started with monster...which is by far the best manga ive ever read..till date and counting..then came 20th century boys..which im still reading and now pluto..
inspired in a humungous amount from astro boy..(which i havnt read..i took this from wikipedia..and after some research..i agree with it..) this manga deals in a time line of i think around 50 years down the future..when artificial intelligence has grown manifold and has become comparable if not surpassing the human capabilities of having emotions ..
now the story begins with the killing of a pretty famous A.I humanoid..a peace worker and a war veteren..loved by a lot of people..as a result a lot of speculation on who the murderer might be..

in comes the secondary protagonist.. detective Gesicht..who himself is a humanoid..
now the story revolves around this case which ends up finding its roots in the war between the united states of thracia and the persian empire..
the antagonist is pluto who apparently is killing all the super robots in the world..and the primary protagonist is Atom(wiz.astro boy) the strongest robot in the world..who ironically comes quite late in the manga.
i d love to give in more details about the story but itll be too long a post..and i also couldnt figure out how to put the story in words because its complicated and quite a stretch to put it within 300 words..but never the less..it is down right amazing.

now the most amazing part about this manga ..is the same as is all the mangas written by Urasawa...this guy somehow always makes his characters extremely realistic...and really less complicated..i mean you actually feel good about yourself after you read it..
pluto brings in the exact same thing..
for eg..in the story when the first super robot(mentioned above) dies people around him start crying..and as a reader ..you feel that this is stupid..because that is a robot people are crying for..
but later on in the story..you actually feel bad for the robots...
the other thing i really liked about pluto is the uncanny resemblance of the president of the united stated of thracia to Pres.George W Bush..and that of the dictator of the kingdom of thracia to saddam hussein..
also urasawa pulls a good one when he shows that the war was all made up for thracias own benefits..and that the thracian president is actually controlled by a more higher A.I...

the manga doesnt really click with the reader during the first couple of chapters..i read it because Urasawa wrote it..
but have some paitence..because if you are into reading comics you'd love reading this one.

i know this highly questions the credibility of this blog...and of what i write over here..
i dont want to give a reason..but all that i can say is that it will not happen again..

MAIDEN AND OPETH IN INDIA

cant go there though..but baby.. its maiden ...im still not certain whether i really will be able to go there..because i had pulled a lot strings the time megadeth came..

Battle Fairy Yukikaze

I came to know of this anime through a friend..its a 5 part action/sci-fi series which had aired on animax about a year ago..although i missed it back then..the reason why i remembered this is due to the fact that i had seen the last 5 mins of the last episode on animax.

about the anime.
now the series takes place in the near future in two worlds..our earth..and the planet named by humans as 'FAIRY'.
yukikaze is a highly advanced fighter jet which has been assigned to lt.Rei Fukai..of special air force (SAF)..a base set up by the humans on the planet fairy..which is inhabited by the species we humans call 'JAM'.
for all the reasons i can think of...the only reason which can make you watch this anime again and again is basically the awesome dogfight scenes between the earth fighter jets and the jam planes..they are quite indulging..and the sound effects are through the roof..they are AWESOME.
it seems they have used some heavy CGI technology for those scenes..and they sure as hell came out with the goods..
some of the graphics shown are outstanding to say the least..ill personally rate em second to those of ghost in the shell:innocence as far as animes are concerned.
the character animation is also quite cool..although it does get boring sometimes..
as far as the story goes ..it basically deals a lot with the relation Fukai has with James Bukhar.A superior officer to Fukai and also one of the architects of yukikaze and the relation yukikaze (who might be a sentient..but is not clearly mentioned) has with lt.Fukai..
now the story is quite intense..there are a lot of pot-holes to be filled.but i guess they purposely made it as such inorder for the viewer to make his own conclusions ..which ironically makes the anime even more interesting.

now if you know your cricket history right ..you'll know that MALCOM MARSHALL is regarded as one of THE best fast bowlers of all time...i rate him higher then KAPIL DEV as far as bowling is concerned...but KAPIL DEV too is INDIAs' only REAL fast bowler till date..and counting

THE NIGHT OF DANTE'S DEMISE

So im playing this game called DEVIL MAY CRY 3...a good game at that...
honestly.. im not much of a gamer myself..i havnt played a game on my pc for a long time.the only game i was really into was C.S ....so for now the little gaming i do is on the ps2..
so ive started this game last evening...and ive been playing it all day today...
the one thing i had decided to do was to complete the game before i hit the bed..no matter what..
theres this stage at the near ending of the game which i wasnt able to cross..and i had spent nearly 70mins on that stage...
now this is where things take a wrong turn...
its 2 am in the morning..im sitting in the main room playing the game..my parents think im probably sleeping or studying in my room...
now im almost there..im clearing the freaking stage...and all of a sudden theres this commanding voice...
' NILESH T.V BANDA KAR..' (nilesh turn off the tv)
it was mom ...
i didnt look at her because i was too much into the game...and i guess that pissed her off even more..
i knew she wouldnt pull the plug...of the tv or the ps2..because she never crosses the line while arguing with me..
so what does she do..she does what GANDHI might have done...stands in between the tv and me and completely blocks my vision..
now i was jumping of the rotating block to the doorway..which i think is the ending of the stage...
because of her little intrusion ..i screwd up the timing of the jump..and i fell back to where i started from..
i was angry..obviously...
i retaliated ..at 2 in the morning..in front of mom ...its not the first time...so im used to this..so is mom..
so she tells me that she ll tell dad about it...and as usual it worked...i know its kind of a lame ending..but this is what happened...i cant argue with him when he is made to wake up at 2... especially for a reason involving yours truly..
so why am i posting this...
honestly ..ive no idea...
either way DEVIL MAY CRY 3 is a really good game..if any of you guys reading it are pro-gamers..do as you will...if you are amatures like i am..do give it a try..
and if you get trapped at 2 in the morning on mission 17 ..after the ice chamber..make sure you and your tv or pc is at some secret hidding place..where no one can bug you..

ohh.. and the reason for the name of the topic is because the main characters' name in the game is DANTE..

DEATH NOTE..

THIS is just about a manga ive been reading off late...
the name of this manga is death note...
now ive been reading a lot of mangas ...and this ones the one i really came to like...
the story is about a young man called LIGHT YAGAMY.. who comes to discover this notebook called the 'death note' and as it seems ...whose-ever name is written in it ..dies...
now with an alias called KIRA...yagamy...tries to kill all the criminals in the world...to bring in peace..just so as to be opposed by detective L..who plays the antagonist to kira..
an amazing manga...i actually completed reading AKIRA...untill i started with DEATH NOTE..
sat for 6 hours with my eyes glued to the monitor...
mind you...reading books for long hours is way different then reading stuff online...
i think ill get glasses pretty soon...
nice big round ones....

ps:my semester exams started today...and these six hours happened exactly 30 hrs before i gave my paper....something that really made me sweat before i even began writing my paper..
i did screw up my paper today..might be because of those six hrs....but then again...it was worth it..ohh yeah...
